1. Introduction
My name is Ruben and I’m from the Netherlands.
I love traveling, eating delicious food, meeting new people and especially Jiu-jitsu.
I made this blog to reflect on my seven years of living in South Korea and to share with you my experiences traveling, as well as tips on balancing a 9-5 job with training BJJ and strength training.
2. Jiu-Jitsu
My passion for BJJ began in South Korea in 2016. Since then, I’ve competed in numerous tournaments in Asia and Europe, been promoted to purple belt, instructed adults and children, and—most importantly—met a ton of incredible people.
3. Travelling
Traveling is one of my favorite activities. traveling to new places, trying new foods, and going to new gyms.
on addition to sharing places you should see and foods to taste, I will tell you about the best gyms I have visited so far on my blog.
4. Competing
During my 7 years in South-Korea, I have participated in numerous local competitions. As there were many times I had to overcome nerves as well as maintaining a training schedule next to having a 9-5 job, I will share how I tried to make the most out of it.
5. Strength training
In addition to my full-time job, travel, and jiu-jitsu training, I make it a point to strength train three times a week or more.
In addition to helping with BJJ, this also aids with injury prevention and muscle building. I’ll go over my weekly schedule and how to modify it if you’re short on time.
Super nice
